- These terms are specific to a body orbiting the Dominicus.

Astronomy Picture of the Twenty-four hour period explains: "Aphelion for 2022 occurred on July 5th. That'south the point in Earth's elliptical orbit when it is farthest from the Sun. Of course, the altitude from the Sun doesn't determine the seasons. Those are governed by the tilt of World's axis of rotation, so July is even so summer in the n and winter in the southern hemisphere. Merely it does mean that on July 5 the Sun was at its smallest apparent size when viewed from planet Earth. This blended neatly compares two pictures of the Lord's day, both taken with the same telescope and camera. The left one-half was captured close to the engagement of the 2022 perihelion (January 2), the closest point in Globe'due south orbit. The right was recorded just before the aphelion in 2021. Otherwise difficult to observe, the change in the Dominicus's credible diameter between perihelion and aphelion amounts to a little over 3 per centum."
